How to convert image file to text format using Microsoft Onenote

Do you know that you can convert an image document to an editable format without having to purchase or install expensive Optical Character Recognition (OCR) soft wares? Yes, you can by making use of one of the suites in Microsoft Office application programme already installed on your computer.
Microsoft Office comes with many suites and one of them is called Onenote. Many people have this suite installed but they don’t know what it can be used for. I want to show you one of the many things you can do with Onenote.
One of its uses it to edit the text in a scanned document saved in image format (.jpg, gif etc) and convert it to a Microsoft Word or Text Document format.
This is how to do it. Open Microsoft Onenote 2007 and it will give you a blank page, then drag the scanned image document into the blank workspace or alternatively, copy the image and paste it into the workspace. Then right click on the image you pasted inside Onenote and click on ‘Copy text from picture’, open Microsoft Word and on the blank workspace paste the content you copied from Microsoft Onenote and the image content will become a text which you can now edit to your suite your need after which you now save the final document as word document in either Microsoft Word or Text document format (.doc or .txt.).
Give it a try today and you will be surprise to see that you don’t need to bother yourself on how to purchase expensive OCR soft wares.
